Chateau Fombrauge, Saint-Emilion, Red Wine
Wine grape variety: 77% Merlot, 9% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc covering 57 hectares
Dark in color, with intense aromas of dried mushroom and very ripe fruit. Almost raisiny.
Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and lots of ripe fruit. Turns meaty and raisiny.
A very mature style, but one that I like a lot. This is always a wonderful value.

"Readers looking for a cru bourgeois made like a classified growth should check out this offering from proprietor Jean Guyon and consultant Dr. Alain Raynaud. The 2005 is a beautifully pure, medium to full-bodied effort displaying notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco interwoven with cedar, black currant, white chocolate, and a hint of new saddle leather. Enjoy this charming, seriously endowed Medoc over the next 12-15 years."

« Highly Recommended : Château Lestage 2004 - 16,5/20
Purple. Lightly perfumed violet. Light, juicy and refreshing. Polished and surprising long. 2-5 years ».
Another very successful Listrac for us, with fresh raspberry and blackcurrant aromas, lots of oak and sweet, dense fruit. Tannins are dryish and extracted, but the wine opens out quite nicely on the finish, with good lengh. 2008-2015 ».

Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are almost equally present in the final assemblage of Château de Villegeorge 2000. This special vintage of "three zeros" was characterized by fine weather during harvest time, which allowed Marie-Laure Lurton to once again make a beautiful wine. Deeply purple when young, it explodes with aromas of blackcurrant, cherries, ripe fruits and leather. A touch of wood, some toasted notes, and spices are contributing to the pleasure that this wine offers on the nose. With its fine body and good length, it will be difficult to resist.

Château du Glana to be a reliable supplier of outstanding value clarets to challenge its illustrious neighbors in St.Julien, Châteaux Ducru Beaucaillou and Léoville-Barton.
The 2005 vintage will be remembered for the very high quality of the wines, thank to a very dry winter, followed by hot, sunny weather in spring and summer, but no heat waves.
This climate brought the grapes to optimum phenolic maturity, producing grapes with particularly high sugar levels, good acidity, and lots of fruit and color.
Picking started on September 22nd for the Merlot and September 30th for the Cabernet.
The only disappointment was the low yield: only 45 hectoliters per hectare.
The resulting wines were tannic, soft, fruity, and very well-balanced, in spite of the relatively high alcohol levels... meeting all the criteria for an outstanding vintage!
The 2005 Blend : 55% cabernet Sauvignon - 45% Merlot.

Every year is another year!!!! 2004 does not differ from the rule!
At Brane, the production is under control and the wine is turning out to be of excellent quality, with a great color. This is classic, dense and fleshy.
A deep purple color with violet hues.An intense nose, largely dominated by red fruits (cherries, black berries). Touches of spice (balsam, pepper).
An ample expression of fruit.A wide, silky attack, evolving in mid mouth, with a tight structure.
Its tannic frame bears witness to the great maturity of the vintage.
Must be aired before serving.Blend : Cabernet Sauvignon : 52% Merlot : 48%.
Barrel aging : 12 months in 15% new French oak.

"For the tables of kings and the altar of the gods!" This is the motto of Château d'Issan, third classified growth whose vineyard faces Château Margaux itself.
With the greatest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Margaux appellation, Issan is a solid, yet supple, wine.
The uniformity of its terroir produces a homogeneous character, an old-school Bordeaux that benefits from long aging. A fine Margaux.
The main vineyard lies adjacent to the château, has a typically gravelly terroir and is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.
Ripe and open on the nose, big and expressive with black cherry fruit. Very typical of the vintage.
A huge presence of tannin on the palate, although they are quite well coated with fruit and texture.
They come to the fore on the finish though. Low acidity, as you might expect, but overall this isn't bad, and approaches a balance that some wines of this vintage find difficult to achieve.

95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc ,Coffee, black fruits. Same on palate, tannins there to balance, well made.
History
Formerly part of the estate of Bourgneuf, the first trace of Château Grange-Neuve
began at the end of the 19th century by a grandfather of the owners.
The vineyard has been enlarged step by step.
Today, there are 7 hectares situated on the west side of Pomerol.
The soil is made with silica in surface and iron in depth (it is called "crasse de fer")
which is very particular of the terroir of Pomerol. Merlot is the main grape, almost 100% of the vines. The whole vineyard has been entirely re-planted after the great frost in 1956.
Chateau Grange-Neuve is surrounded by Chateau Latour à Pomerol, Chateau Bourgneuf
and Chateau La Pointe.

April 2008
This delicious blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon from an up-and-coming estate of just over 25 acres possesses loads of mineral and ripe melon-like characteristics, terrific fruit purity, medium body, and a surprisingly long, textured, dry finish. An excellent bargain from one of the most visited historic sites in southwest France, it should drink well for 4-6 years.

This white is gorgeous and very elegant. Made of a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Sémillon, with small variations depending on the vintage, it shows perfect balance. This wine has excellent aging potential, a wine to savour with refined cuisine. The Sémillon evolves superbly and is capable of infinite refinement, whilst providing beautiful opulence. The Sauvignon, on the other hand, provides the wines with a defined, lively and sappy character, with precise, upfront attractive aromas, right from the start of the wine’s life. Our vinification and aging techniques also contribute to the quality of its flavour profile and aging potential.
We always take great pleasure in savouring our young white Bouscaut as an aperitif with goats’ milk cheese or shrimp and prawn snacks. It is stunning with oysters.
Once it has a little more bottle age, we happily serve it with queen scallops and cep mushrooms, smoked eel terrine, lobster bisque, seafood and fish in sauces, poultry and it goes equally well with many cheeses.

Château Lynch-Bages
The history of the château Lynch-Bages goes back to the seventeenth century, where the family Lynch was the owner of an estate located on the « plateau of Bages ». This property was separated, during the nineteenth century, into two parts: the château Lynch-Bages and château Lynch-Moussas. The 90 hectares of château Lynch-Bages are now headed by the family Cazes, where Jean-Michel Cazes manages the property. The castle was ranked in 1855 as ‘fifth cru classé’. The area also produces a rare white wine, called « Blanc de Lynch Bages »
Wine Spectator Rich and powerful with apple, lemon and light toasted oak. Big and powerful, with loads of fruit. Thick and rich. Score: 94. —James Suckling, 2006. A blend of Muscadel, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
